In today’s hyper-connected world, talent is everywhere, but opportunity is not. A career in cloud computing can be a life-changing gateway to economic stability and innovation, yet for many promising individuals, this path is blocked by financial and educational barriers.
This past May, the Opened Book Institute (OBI) decided to build a new doorway.
We proudly launched our very first Cloud Computing Practitioner class, welcoming 9 ambitious, dedicated students from underprivileged backgrounds. For the past six months, these students have embarked on an intensive journey. They’ve attended rigorous classes, diving deep into the fundamentals of cloud technology, and—most importantly—have spent countless hours in hands-on lab simulations to build practical, real-world skills.
OBI has been privileged to facilitate this journey, providing the full course and covering all costs for the essential lab environments. The commitment and sheer perseverance shown by this cohort have been nothing short of inspiring.
The Next Great Step
Now, that hard work is about to pay off.
We are thrilled to announce that all 9 students are in their final phase of preparation to write their official AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner (CLF-C02) exam at the end of this month and another batch in Jan 2026!
This certification isn’t just a piece of paper; it’s a globally recognized validation of their new skills. It is their key to unlocking interviews, joining the tech workforce, and beginning a high-demand career. This is a testament to what’s possible when potential is met with opportunity.
